My apologies for not being able to be with you on our first day of class. I will be here on Monday and we'll begin our discussion of Freud in earnest.
In the meantime, here are the things you should do between now and Monday:
- Read our online syllabus.
- Acquire a copy of Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams from the bookstore.
- Check your campus email for an invitation to join this blog as an author.
- Begin keeping a dream journal where you record in as much detail as possible the dreams you remember this semester. You will not have to share this journal with anyone, however, if you wish to share some of your dreams with the class on this blog, you may.
- For Monday read the "Preface to the First Edition," and Chapter I, "The Scientific Literature," pp. xxiii-xxiv, 35-73 of The Interpretation of Dreams.
